Is lifting weights safe for kids?
YES! Especially with supervision, lifting weights is safe and healthy for kids, even as young as 4 or 5 years old.
Can lifting weights stunt my child’s growth?
This idea of “stunted growth” has been around for a long time, but was debunked by science years ago.
Why lifting weights? Why not just sports?
Student athletes who lift weights have a 30% advantage of those who don’t. While we encourage all kinds of sports and activity, lifting weights is something that kids can take with them into adulthood. Many kids leave school, and without the support of a coach, team, and school, they lose the chance to participate in healthy activities.
Barbell Therapy youth training will give your child a precious skill that they can carry with them into a healthy adulthood. Come train with us for a few months and you will be able to confidently walk into any gym and know what you can do to maintain your health.
